The Bears Nearby
I know that bears, they follow me
and hide in places I can’t see,
but I can feel their leering stares.
They’re everywhere, those fearsome bears.
I don’t know what they want from me;
tormenting, taunting, haunting me,
and though I never hear or see,
I know they’re near, and watching me.
It isn’t even safe inside.
I’m sure they’ve found a place to hide
behind those plants, behind those shelves
where clever bears conceal themselves.
I wish that they would leave me be
and end this loathsome misery.
They hide and seek all night and day.
Oh, why did I agree to play?
