1724 – Mean Bean

Mean Bean

Vegetarians get a raw deal.

Tara Lee and the Peas

A sad, sad girl was Tara Lee
when she refused to eat a pea.
With dinner gone, she asked to play
but sadly, mother made her stay…

She’d chewed and chowed so very much
but all her peas remained untouched
so Tara’s mother made her wait
until one pea had left her plate.

But that would be a dreadful feat
because she found them hard to eat.
Instead she frowned and gave a pout
and tried to wait her mother out…

She waited through the night and day
but still her mother made her stay.
She waited months and years and more
but there she sat, as just before…

Now Tara Lee is old and gray
and still her mother makes her stay.
Until, at last, she eats one pea,
a sad, sad girl is Tara Lee.
