#14 – Juggle Dog
Andrew couldn’t figure out that the thing on the dog’s head was a wig. Guess my wig-drawing ability needs improvement. I like how I put together the crowd on this one. It took forever to crank out the pointillism, but … Continue reading
#13 – Pogo Stick Dragon
Full title: “Insanely Happy Pogo Stick Dragon” I like the hills on this one. I spent a lot of time on it though; upwards of twenty minutes. This is crazy: About a minute after I uploaded this, I put a … Continue reading
#12 – Banjobot
I really, really like this one. I received a couple of compliments from acquaintances who saw this. I’m especially pleased with the robot’s hands and the slapdash way that the town looks assembled.
#11 – A Worm’s Worst Nightmare
I tried shading the trees a little differently. I did some heavier crosshatching. I like the effect, but I’m still not thrilled with the results. I got a lot of compliments on this one. My oldest nephew Zed liked this … Continue reading
#10 – Watch Out!
Full title: Watch Out for That Tree, Kid! I like how this one turned out a lot, despite still not knowing how to draw trees. I did get the background trees to look good, but I think they need a … Continue reading
#9 – Jumpin’ Bugs
I love bugs. Love them.
#8 – Man on the Moon!
I’ve always wanted to go into space. I took a chance on the sky in this one. I was trying to make something like stars by not fully coloring in the sky. I’m not convinced that I succeeded.
#7 – Go, go cowboy lasso!
No particular inspiration for this one. I’m pleased with the cowboy from the waist up, but I struggle with knowing how to draw draping and gathering in clothing. From the waist down, this guy looks a little like fingers.
#6 – Cool Dog
Yesterday Andrew requested a dog on his next lunchbox doodle. I made this one. I don’t know how to draw trees, but I think I give the good impression of them here. Good way to sneak in some pointillism on … Continue reading
#5 – Toast Fishing
I was inspired by Andrew’s breakfast choice. That fish looks psychotic. I took more time today, and the fishing kiddo is more my typical cartooning style. I’m more pleased with this one than the last couple. Speaking of, Andrew has … Continue reading
