1402 – The Leaf Man

The Leaf Man
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Mister October.

Autumn Comes Before Winter

October days are closing.
November is imposing
as hues of autumn leaves begin to turn.
The signs of cooler weather
are gathering together
preceding cold December’s bold return.
But at the culmination
of winter’s restoration
the trees begin their elegant cascades,
then vast accumulation
of Fall’s precipitation
in crimson, orange, brown, and yellow shades.

  1. Trees aflame are brightly burning
    In neon, effervescent colors;
    Leaves are flaming, blowing shadows –
    The fiery flowers of the fall.
