#457 – On The Roof

On the Roof
I’m pretty sure that the last time anyone used a net like that to catch someone was in a Disney movie in the 1940s.

Thursdays are dog days!

Full title of this doodle is: “I woke up on the roof of my house” after the poem (and song) in limerick of the same name:

I Woke Up on the Roof of My House

I woke up on the roof of my house.
How it happened I may never know.
When I crawled into bed,
it was over my head…
but for now it is under my toes.

While I should have been snoring in bed,
to the rooftop I managed to creep.
Did I climb up some vines?
Tip-toe telephone lines?
Or, perhaps I can fly in my sleep?

Who’d have thought this is where I’d wake up
being stirred from my slumber by breeze
so incredibly high,
I look up and see sky
but I have to look down to see trees.

I could jump, but I’m way too afraid
that I’ll fall and I’ll land on my head.
How’d I end up this way?
Guess I’m up here to stay…
‘till the day I wake up in my bed.
