Dear Santa, please ignore the tales
I fear you may have heard.
The piles of fibs and false details
are utterly absurd.Have you been told I didn’t mind
my teacher once or twice?
Well, check again. I’m sure you’ll find
I’m only, always nice.You might have heard, I fear, I dread
my manners are uncouth.
But all the things my parents said
were simply not the truth.I never pouted, never cried,
nor shouted loud and bold.
I never cheated, never lied,
despite what you’ve been told.So disregard all other claims –
in case there’s stuff I’ve missed –
that puts me on the list of names
upon your “Naughty” list.
