#503 – I Wasn’t Ready

I Wasn't Ready
Seriously, what have you got against leaves, cloud? Side note, this is also the closest I intend on ever coming to drawing something naked.

So Long, Summertime

The middle of September
may smolder like an ember
when Summertime is nearly at its end.
Then, conquered by October,
the Summer days are over,
and soon we’re whipped with wicked Winter wind.

It only lasts a minute –
enjoy it while you’re in it…
it won’t be very long until it’s gone.
When Summertime’s just started,
it’s already departed,
but Wintertime drags on and on and on.

Note: of all of the poems I have written – even though it isn’t funny – this is my favorite.
