#46 – Eat It to Be Polite

Eat it to be polite
And try not to let them see you spit it out.

No inspiration in particular, I got a little impatient with this one, but I may take the concept of this one for a poem entitled “Christina’s Cake.”

Christina tried to bake a cake
(her Grandmom’s recipe)
with substitute ingredients;
just one, or two (or three).

She didn’t have the cocoa so
she used a cup of soil.
She substituted vinegar
when she ran out of oil.

She shoved it in the oven and
she left it there to bake,
but what came out, without a doubt,
it wasn’t chocolate cake.
