If you are what you eat, then I recommend avoiding Danielle Steele.

A Bookworm’s Lunch

I love to chew a verb or two.
A noun would be a treat.
I would prefer a wordy stew
to any foods you eat.

An adjective can add some spice,
some savor, salt, or sweet.
And when you crave a verbal splice,
contractions can’t be beat.

Conjunctions like “if”, “and”, “or”, “but”:
they’re good, though flavor-free.
And adverbs may upset your gut,
so eat them sparingly.

Devour every phrase and term
and sentences with zeal,
for if you are a wordy worm,
a book’s a mighty meal!
