Punished for My Art
I’m often told: be brave and bold
with every art creation,
but this time momma chose to scold
my latest inspiration.Now here I’ll sit as punishment
until the art’s removal:
this dismal corner where I’m sent
for earning disapproval.And though I’ll miss my masterpiece
I sense no admiration
as mom applies some elbow grease
against my illustration.I understand her umbrage, though:
I disappointed mother
by drawing a mustachio
upon my baby brother.
