1366 – Too Much Homework

Too Much Homework
This was me every Sunday night in high school.

Extra Homework

Our teacher aggravates us so.
With seconds left before we go,
We think we’re free at last, but no:
She gives us extra homework.

The agony she puts us through…
She says, “But more is good for you!”
Well so’s the other stuff we’d do
without the extra homework!

We dream of sun, outdoorsy fun,
to ride our bikes, to romp and run,
but here we’re stuck and far from done
with piles of extra homework.

It’s every single night, it’s true.
We always work the weekends through.
And sad to say, in Summer too
there’s always extra homework.
