Awful Itch
There is an awful itch that you can’t catch.
It likes to move around so you can’t scratch.
It itches first atop your hairy head
but once you scratch, it’s somewhere else instead.
The awful itch will tickle on your nose
then down your neck and to your back it goes,
and when you think the awful itch is caught,
it reappears in places it was not.
It tortures you by itching on your rear
then runs and hides down deep inside your ear.
You feel its feathers flit across your face
but if you scratch it’s in another place.
The awful itch is seldom ever still.
It is an evil fiend that you can’t kill.
No matter how you scratch or how you scritch
you never will be rid of awful itch.
