1426 – This Way Up

This Way Up
Newton says all objects are attracted to each other. Meanwhile, most fish find this guy unattractive.

Topsy-turvy Trout

Behold the Topsy-turvy Trout,
the strangest fish around.
This underwater oddity
goes swimming upside-down.

You’ve never seen a stranger sight
than this go swimming by:
a fish that thinks the ground is “up”
and “down below” is sky.

Wherever Topsy-turvy goes
the other fish recite,
“You silly sole, you’re upside-down!
Why don’t you swim upright?!”

But every time they sneer or scoff,
It sings this fishy song:
“I know that I alone swim right,
and all the rest swim wrong!”
