1357 – The End of the World

The End of the World
The horror! We’ll be reduced to reading books!

Life Without Internet

It was wholly unexpected:
My devices disconnected.
Everything that I was doing:
all the music, gaming, viewing,
was replaced by my boohooing
for the Internet was gone.

Sudden waiting left me shaken
with my entertainment taken
while this awful situation
of an Internet vacation
that affected half the nation,
lingered on and on and on.

All the stuff I’d been enjoying
now laid quietly annoying.
Only longing, waiting, yearning
for the Internet’s returning
while the boredom kept on burning…
Oh, the misery and strife!

I’m aware it sounds pathetic,
but I’m unapologetic
if I seem a little sour.
When the Internet lost power,
’twas the longest half an hour
of my gloomy, doomy life.
