Backyard Campout
They warned us: don’t go camping in your yard.
Why not? we thought. Seems easy. It was HARD.
Our wiener roast grew much too hot
and our extinguisher was shot.
I grabbed the hose but it would not
begin to reach the burning spot.
Now everything we own is black and charred.
That’s what we get for camping in the yard.
