1619 – Look at All the Stars

Look at All the Stars
“There must be twenty of them!”

Stars Above, Stars Below

A minnow fluttered to and fro
and looking high, and looking low,
it thought: how sad the folks must be
who dwell on land instead of sea.

They only see the stars I love
that gleam and glimmer up above
for when the sun is full and bright
they lose the light of starry night.

But in the blue and briny sea
there lives another galaxy:
a million stars, or maybe more
that crawl across the ocean floor!

A minnow fluttered to and fro
and looking high, and looking low
at stars below, and in the sky
it thought: a lucky fish am I.
