1393 – Sourpusses

Sourpusses
Once again, the mice had been misled by an invitation to a lemon party.

Lick a Lemon

When I feel bad, or sad, or mad,
I never pout, I pucker.
I try to find a lemon’s rind
and bite that sour sucker.

And when I’m down, or blue, or frown,
or acting like a quitter,
a lemon slice is mighty nice
to make me feel less bitter.

When I have hate, or feel irate,
a lemon is appealing:
One little lick can do the trick
to crush the rotten feeling.

I often find, for peace of mind,
that lemons have the power
to wash away my gloom and gray
with juicy waves of sour.

Thursdays are kitty days!
