#470 – Show and Tell

Show and Tell
You can’t tell from the illustration, but the hippo is singing a song about metamorphosis in English, French, and Portuguese.

Show and Tell

John brought a hippopotamus
today for show and telling.
A hippo virtuosomus;
at every task excelling.

The hippo showed its skills to us
in reading, math and science.
And when it sang a songamus,
we listened there in silence.

That master hippopotamus –
a pachyderm sensation –
intelligence so largeamus,
he earned our admiration.

I sat in back and fussedamus.
Embarrassed, sad and lonely:
I thought my hippopotamus
would be the one and only.
