1709 – Self Defense

Self Defense
“You can leave now.”

I’m a Tree

I do not like that I’m a tree.
No way, no how for me to flee
if someone skilled in hatchetry
decides to take a swing at me.
And nor can I prevent the crime
of animals and kids that climb.
And though the summer sun’s sublime,
I’m naked in the wintertime.
