Little Crickets
Little crickets chirping brightly
chipper churrups – loud and clear –
their annoying noises nightly
singing, ringing in my ear.
I am asking you politely
as your choirs chip, and cheep:
please perform more softly, slightly,
while I fail to fall asleep.
