Learning to Skate
I’ve pads on my knees and my elbows,
a helmet on top of my dome.
I filled up my jacket with cotton,
and packed-up my pants full of foam.
I’m wrapped round my middle with pillows
protecting my front, back, and side.
Now every last inch of me’s covered…
Come on then, I’m ready! Let’s ride!
For long-time followers, you’ll note that this doodle harkens back to a much earlier doodle. Interestingly enough, that doodle and this were both inspired by the same poem, which predates both by about eight years.
Reminds me of a skating poem I wrote earlier this year…but with a different angle and style. Fun!
