Knot Bot
Next Step: invent a robot to untie this robot’s arms

I Can’t Tie a Shoe

Loop over, cross, and through
with fingers black and blue.
My failed attempts exasperate me,
aggravate, and agitate me.
Why, oh why do laces hate me?
I can’t tie a shoe!

Despite that I’ve been told
I’m strong and brave and bold,
now pusillanimous, I’m crying,
sobbing, whining, wailing, sighing,
too afraid for further trying:
I can’t tie a shoe!

But everything I know
took time to learn, and so
Are barefoot days at last concluded?
Nope, it seem I’m still eluded.
Maybe I’d look better, booted.
I can’t tie a shoe!

Special mentions to my friend Ethan Murphy for the recommendation of “pusillanimous”, and my friend Emily Herring for the recommendation of “exasperate.” Want to recommend a word for me? If I use it in a poem, I’ll mention you in the post (and link to your webpage/twitter too!).
