#978 – Just Keep Playing

Just Keep Playing
They always say, “We can clean up when we’re done.”

This game

This game’s gone on forever…
at least ten hours or more.
At first it was a lot of fun,
but now it’s just a bore.

We’re losing our desire
to carry on the game,
yet we’ll compete until, at last,
the winner’s been proclaimed.

We could declare a stalemate
and bid this game good-bye,
but we’ve played on for far too long
to end it as a tie.

So why do we keep playing
if we’re both bored to tears?
The loser takes the garbage out
the next eleven years.
