#644 – Fallen Apart

Fallen Apart
“Because I wanted to know what makes me tick.”

I’ve totally fallen apart

I have totally fallen apart –
every bit of my body’s astray.
First my toes bid their fondest farewell.
Then my fingers all floated away.

I am split at the seams, so it seems.
Next my knees did a quick disconnect.
Then my ankles and elbows eloped.
And my legs, one by one, did eject.

Last, my body and neck left me next.
I’ll never know how it all started.
I’m only a head, but not dead…
I’m merely dearly de-parted.
