This is how we learn now…

Dear Teacher, On the First Day of School

Dear Teacher,

As we all begin
We’re glad it’s time
for school again.

It seems the sun
Of summer burned
And baked away
the things we’ve learned.
It drained our brains –
As summer does –
And left behind
Forgetful fuzz
And ashes of
the things we need
like science, math,
And how to read.

And if we’re sad
The summer’s through,
At least we’re glad
It’s time for you
To help refill
Our mental tanks.

It’s up to you,
Dear Teacher.

Thanks

Sincerely signed
With love and care
By every student
