1597 – Cake in the Night

Cake in the Night
Fact: cake keeps me awake too.

Asleep

The world is fast asleep –
no need for counting sheep.
Into their noggins creep
the dreams of deepest sleep.

So cozy in their beds,
with pillows by their heads
and pink pajamas on,
they’ll sleep until the dawn.

They slumber and they snore
and then they snooze some more,
but I lay wide awake,
’cause I ate too much cake.
