1487 – Balloon to the Moon

Balloon to the Moon
Fact: hippos can breathe in space.

To The Moon

Let’s travel into space, my friend
and to the shining moon.
But while you board a rocket ship
to speed you on along your trip
with bang and boom and zoom and zip,
I’ll travel by balloon.

You’ll surely beat me there, my friend.
I’ll meet you on the moon.
For I prefer the slower pace
of floating upward into space
No need to rush. No need to race.
I’ll be there someday soon.
