1468 – Baby on Board

Baby on Board
That dog is a bad influence.

Where did the baby go?

Where did the baby go?
We’d really like to know.
One time we left her at the zoo
A day had passed before we knew.
We found her with the kangaroo
a-hopping to-and-fro.

Where did the baby go?
One time we saw the shore,
and left her on a sandy beach
within an octopus’s reach.
I’d never heard a baby screech
as loud as that before.

Where did the baby go?
We lost her once last June.
We left her in the city park
and when we found her after dark
we heard a pack of werewolves bark
and whimper at the Moon.

Where did the baby go?
She’s headed far away.
She didn’t cry, she didn’t fuss –
just said that she was through with us
and then she hopped upon a bus.
She’s likely gone to stay.
