1706 – All Out of That

All Out of That
“…but we can order that for you.”

Nathan’s Store

We went to shop in Baltimore
at Nathan’s Super Duper Store
but we had not been notified
there’s nothing left to sell inside.

It threw a wrench into our plans.
No veggies there. No meat. No cans.
With all the rows of empty shelves,
how could we ever feed ourselves?

I looked around before I asked
(at all the nothing they’d amassed),
“You don’t have eggs or milk or bread?”
“We just sold out of those,” they said.

In Nathan’s Super Duper Store
They’re selling nothing anymore.
They may be open ’round the clock
But everything is out of stock.
