1646 – Love From Afar

Love From Afar
Nothing disrupts the neighborhood dynamic like a poodle.

Every Time I’m Near You

I’ve watched all day from far away,
but hiding as I spied,
for every time I’m near you
I explode a bit inside.

My skin grows wet with clammy sweat.
I fear I’ll fall apart.
And every time I’m near you,
there’s a hammer in my heart.

My vision blurs. My stomach stirs.
I breathe a billion sighs.
And every time I’m near you,
there’s a flock of butterflies.

My brain, it burns. It boils and churns,
a mess of muddled mush.
And every time I’m near you,
I know why it’s called a crush.
