The greatest Scout event each year
at long, long last, it’s here! It’s here!
So let’s all give a Cub Scout cheer:
It’s Derby Day, Hooray!Some cars will zoom, some cars will dash,
Some cars will sputter, boom, and crash
at this year’s Pinewood Derby bash.
It’s Derby Day! Hooray!We built our cars with expert skills
with hammers, coping saws, and drills,
and now they race down sloping hills:
It’s Derby Day, Hooray!Some cars look good. Some cars look bad.
A few were surely built by dad.
But either way, we’re mighty glad
it’s Derby Day! Hooray!Our rugged racers zoom and clack
while zipping down the metal track.
So who’s the fastest in the Pack?
It’s Derby Day, Hooray!Some cars are slow, some cars are fast,
but even if I finish last,
I know I’m going to have a blast!
