1266 – It Wasn’t Me

It Wasn't Me
The cat was doing the dog a favor: he couldn’t have the chocolate anyway!

Cat Burglar

Who gobbled up my candy pile?
It must have been the cat.
I know he chose to burgle while
I tended this and that.
He says, “Not I,” but that’s a lie.
I’ll disregard his guile,
for I’ve deduced he’s bluffing by
his guilty, sticky smile.

As an aside, this was the first poem I wrote in last year’s March Madness poetry competition. Keep checking out Ed’s blog at Think, Kid, Think!
