One of the things that I did in my house to help establish the boys’ dominance over my sometimes-pesky dog was to have them be the one to give him treats after he does his outside duties. It’s surprising, but after doing that, I noted a lot fewer instances of bad behavior directed to the boys: growling, swiping snacks, making messes in their rooms.
