The Bears Nearby
I know that bears, they follow me
and hide in places I can’t see,
but I can feel their leering stares.
They’re everywhere, those fearsome bears.I don’t know what they want from me;
tormenting, taunting, haunting me,
and though I never hear or see,
I know they’re near, and watching me.It isn’t even safe inside.
I’m sure they’ve found a place to hide
behind those plants, behind those shelves
where clever bears conceal themselves.I wish that they would leave me be
and end this loathsome misery.
They hide and seek all night and day.
Oh, why did I agree to play?
