Pet Octopus
An octopus would make an awful pet.
Its eight-appendaged hug would leave you wet.
I don’t believe it’s capable of tricks
when everything it touches to: it sticks.
And while it’s true, an octopus won’t shed,
it tends to leave a trail of slime instead.
But most of all I think that would stink
to have to tidy puddles of its ink.
