Head Tilting
My doggy tilts her hollow head
Each time she hears me talk.
She’s done it every time I’ve said,
“Hey girl, you wanna walk?”I know she hears, but it appears
She’s vexed by what I say.
“You wanna walk?” She flaps her ears
and tilts the other way…“You wanna walk?” She tilts her head,
And so I ask again,
“You wanna walk?” Alas, instead,
her brains roll ’round within.I tilt my own as I presume
she can’t make sense of me.
That’s why she finds our dining room
The perfect place to pee.
