Eat the Sky
Today, my friends and I
are dining on the sky
by giving clouds a munch
from breakfast time and lunch.
We’re slurping up its blue
when suppertime is due,
as every bite of air
becomes our dinner fare.
An after-dinner treat:
the sunshine’s spicy heat.
We gobble into night
devouring its light.
We feast from dusk till dawn
until the moon is gone
then feed on the buffet
of stars and Milky Way.
